Eco Company travels to Southern California to visit the Algalita Marine Research Foundation. Algalita has been conducting research about plastic in the Earth's oceans for 15 years. Sailing on the foundation's 50 foot catamaran, the Algalita, researchers have traveled around the globe to trawl for plastic in the 5 major gyres where plastic debris gathers. Adam visits the lab to see all of the plastic "confetti" which is meticulously catalogued and analyzed. What he learns learns will startle even those who are acutely aware of the oceans' growing issues with plastic waste.

Then Brendan visits the Jewish Community High School of San Francisco where he finds students on campus AFTER SCHOOL! They are there to build a three-phase compost bin...from scratch. Of course Brendan puts on gloves to help! Learn a good way to build a compost bin of your own.

Finally, Jessica and Adam go partying...LA style! They They head off to a soiree put on by The Green Girls where they meet green pioneers and celebrities who are partying for a cause...from providing solar powered flashlights to earthquake refugees in Haiti, to providing a vehicle for showcasing teens who are doing great things for the planet. And to top off the evening, they get to see a green fashion show! It's a story you won't want to miss.
